AnexGATE Firewall protects such critical servers by defining a DMZ (demilitarized zone) and Perimeter Network Area within your LAN. DMZ is a separate area of your LAN which sits between external network and the internal network of an organization. Stateful Firewall

It comes with innovative concepts like real time display of bandwidth statistics in the forms of graphs for better analysis and preview of what’s going on the network.
Administrators have full control over the distribution of bandwidth. Total Internet Bandwidth available to an Organization can be divided into different pools, in a tree like structure. Minimum assured amount of Bandwidth can be allotted to each pool with the flexibility of configuring the Maximum bandwidth to that pool in case its lying unused in other pools. Groups are created to add users into it. A set of users placed in a group can be then associated with a default Policy (Firewall Policy) or a number of different Policies. Each Group is also attached to a Bandwidth Pool, from where each user in a Group is given Internet Bandwidth.
Hierarchical Bandwidth Management
AnexGATE provides Hierarchical bandwidth Management which enables you to decide priority and availability of Internet bandwidth to different class of users. It allows you decide how much assured and maximum bandwidth is to provided to each user or an application/Protocol. No user or unauthorized application can choke bandwidth by going in for heavy upload/download as you define outgoing and incoming committed and maximum bandwidth for every user/IP/Mac address.
QoS Management
Along with Bandwidth Manager, AnexGATE also comes with a powerful QoS Manager which let administrators define bandwidth for different protocols, in percentages. The default schema of QoS Management has been carefully tweaked for best performance by engineers. But in case, a network environment demands different settings, QoS Management settings can easily be tailored according to the requirements. For example if some organization has a a high rate for VOIP traffic, percentage of VOIP can be increased accordingly with a reduction in some other less used protocol like P2P. This ensures that VOIP traffic will always have a highest share of total bandwidth, resulting in good sound quality and better VOIP performance.

AnexGATE's VPN server allows to a remote network or remote users to connect to the local network (LAN). This service can operate over public networks thus reducing operational costs.
The AnexGATE supports three types of VPN connections:
• PPTP is used to establish a connection from a computer to the AnexGATE via the Internet. Employees can then access the server as if they were connected via the office LAN.
• IPSec is used to securely connect two or more AnexGATE together to create one large, secure network. Each server acts as a VPN Concentrator for each network.
• Secure SSL VPN lets administrators provide secure remote access to the internal network. AnexGATE ’s intuitive GUI makes it easier to: Configure basic settings through a setup wizard, Generate custom certs for each client, Easily distribute client software via email
As a VPN client, AnexGATE allows routing to the LAN through a VPN connection so that the local network can potentially be part of a unified private network.
PPTP
AnexGATE supports the PPTP protocol and is compatible with similar systems. To secure access to the private network AnexGATE offers a user authentication mechanism the blocks access to users after three consecutive failed login attempts.
The implementation of the PPTP Client and Server that has been integrated into AnexGATE allows the operation of LAN to LAN routing even if both sides use dynamic dial-up connections. When both connections are established the VPN is automatically enabled without requiring any intervention from the administrator.
The administrator has the option to set for each VPN user if a static or dynamic IP address will be used for the connection. In addition, the system is equipped with a wide variety of reports and statistics for the service making the administration of the sub-system as easy as possible.
IPSec
The IPSec protocol is from its nature complex enough in order to guaranty high levels of security. AnexGATE simplifies the parameterization of the protocol since the choice of cryptographic protocols is automated (IKE Negotiation Phases). It allows connections from equivalent IPSec systems or remote users (road-warriors). The supported symmetric cryptography protocols are 3DES, AES, Twofish, Serpent and Blowfish, the symmetric key protocol Diffie-Hellman group 5 and group 2 which is verified with the MD5 or SHA-1 algorithms. In addition, it supports PFS, ESP tunnel and transport mode.
The user authentication can be done with a Pre-shared key or with x.509v3 electronic certificates that can be issued from a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) .
It also supports NAT traversal in case that an AnexGATE systems or the remote system's IPSec is using NAT to connect to the public network.
AnexGATE is fully compatible with other IPSec systems as well.
Secure SSL VPN
Secure VPN is one of two solutions AnexGATE offers to enable secure, remote access to your network. Secure VPN requires a client on each host, meaning a small application must be installed on each computer that is going to require access.
Secure VPN makes the most sense for persistent site-to-site connections and remote access to non-web (e.g. client/server) applications.

AnexGATE is equipped with one of the most powerful Web Caching Proxy Server software that can be utilized for large scale installations from the majority of ISPs.
AnexGATE’s administrator has to his disposal a tool with which can control all users' traffic. The tool enables the administrator to allow access to particular internet sites or network addresses or to control the available bandwidth for each user. All this can be controlled with the use of a user interface that allows to set-up, customize and activate filters based on IP Addresses, Mac addresses, users, time ranges or URL lists.
Having setup different filters based on the above parameters then the administrator can set-up combination of these filters as to control the traffic or to set the bandwidth for each of the filters. For example, you can setup filters that allow specific users or particular IP addresses to connect to the proxy during a predefined period of time while the access specific content from pre-specified URLs. On top of that it is allowed to set specific bandwidth limits and Upload and download limit for proxy requests that satisfy specific criteria, such as the ones mentioned above.
The service also allows to be configured as a transparent proxy meaning that all requests go through the proxy server.
Once proxy authentication is activated all users will have to login first before they have access to the internet. The administration of the proxy service can cover any potential needs while it controls Internet access which is a necessity for most of the companies.
The AnexGATE Proxy Server not only saves bandwidth and speeds up access time, but also gives administrators the ability to track web usage with the daily text and graphical reports.
All LAN users can take advantage of the web caching proxy server while there is no licensing restrains.
Anexgate Proxy also cache web pages. Each time an internal user requests a URL from outside, a temporary copy is stored locally. The next time an internal user requests the same URL, the proxy can serve the local copy instead of retrieving the original across the network, improving performance.
Note: Do not confuse a proxy server with a NAT (Network Address Translation) device. A proxy server connects to, responds to, and receives traffic from the Internet, acting on behalf of the client computer, while a NAT device transparently changes the origination address of traffic coming through it before passing it to the Internet.
For those who understand the OSI (Open System Interconnection) model of networking, the technical difference between a proxy and a NAT is that the proxy server works on the transport layer (layer 4) or higher of the OSI model, whereas a NAT works on the network layer (layer 3).
AnexGATE Pro offers a full and powerful email system that is in a position to handle the whole of a company's needs in this area.
It supports unlimited domains and unlimited number of mailboxes (License constraint). All users of the system can have their own personal mailbox. To create a mailbox you must first create the corresponding user to which the mailbox belongs to.
The administrator can define an unlimited number of mailing lists; can constrain the maximum number of recipients or the maximum number of attachments for each email, while at the same time the maximum allowed connections per second to the server can also be constrained. In addition, a Forwarder E-mail server can be defined.
Finally, the server allows the delivery of e-mails to a local account from any remote POP3 mailbox. The number or remote mailboxes that can be configured is unlimited. Through this subsystem (Remote mailbox delivery) it is possible to configure multi-drop accounts.

The E-mail server supports all the known protocols (SMTP / POP3). If a client is located in a remote network then the system allows you to configure SMTP authentication.

Each incoming email message is checked. In case an infected message is found, the senders as well as the administrator of the system are notified. New virus definitions updates are automatically done whenever they are available.
